...guardians, grandparents, teachers...if you have a vested interest in the
life of a tween or teen girl, you've come to the right place!
I have a passion for helping maturing girls by preparing them to make good choices. I believe the best way to achieve that is to confront certain hot-button issues well before they're actually faced with those things. By helping them prepare their decisions in advance, they become equipped with power of knowledge and the strength of determination that can't be garnered at the very last minute under pressure.
Another struggle for families is the battle between mom and (teen) daughter. There are reasons for that struggle and ways to circumvent, overcome and even turn it around for good. I'll be blogging about this concept weekly.
I'd like to share one promise from God's word with you: "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
This is true for you, of course, but it's also true for your teen. The work was started by God and it will be finished by Him. But it's a work in progress until the day she stands before God and the work becomes complete. Perhaps that can help you to relax and be a part of the work God is doing in her without panicking and pushing for the completion that we already know we won't see this side of heaven.
Take joy in the journey. There's a beautiful promise waiting for you at the end--in the meantime, don't lose sight of the beauty found in the journey itself.
